Seven years as a full-time copy editor has taught Erica Gies the art of conforming to house styles while maintaining grammatical integrity and the writer's voice. She is proficient in AP, Chicago, and MLA styles and has created several in-house style guides.

Erica gained developmental and line editing skills during three years spent as senior editor of an environmental news web site. She has also edited books and articles on a range of subjects, including general news, technology, psychology, music, arts, and food.

She currently accepts freelance editing work.
